Lons-le-Saunier: The town hall clears the base camp of the “Block Everything” activists

On the morning of Thursday, September 11, the mayor of Lons-le-Saunier, Jean-Yves Ravier, came to meet the demonstrators of the September 10 movement to ask them to leave the premises they had occupied without prior authorization, namely the parking lot of the former fire station, at La Marjorie. During the citizens' assembly organized in the evening, the protesters, however, decided to continue occupying the premises, simply removing the planks that had not been used to establish their headquarters. They had chosen to leave the marquee, the toilets, and the benches built during the day of September 10.
This Friday, September 12, at around 9 a.m., municipal agents were responsible for removing and dismantling all the installations, while the demonstrators were not present.
Supporters of the movement have scheduled a new general meeting for 6 p.m. this Friday, again at the old fire station in La Marjorie. It will therefore be without their makeshift facilities.
